The Close of a Week

So much music this weekend! Dvorak, Mendelssohn, Bruckner, and now the exquisite silence of my apartment, ringing only with lingering memories. How can I possible express such things in mere words? I paused from my Sunday evening chores (cleaning, reorganizing, cooking for the week) to watch the sunset out of one of my eight bedroom windows, a pleasure in which I have not been indulging enough. Although I tend to prefer sunrises, the orientation of my apartment only allows me easy access to crepuscular enjoyment. Like one beautifully drawn out sigh, the way the rays shift, mellow, and merge: wistfully, as if lingering, holding on to the day as long as possible.

How difficult it is, at times, to let go. Right now my mind is filled with this melody--melancholy and yearning:



And so another week begins.
