moonlit waters

Yesterday was not a typical Wednesday. Yesterday I spent most of the day on a sailboat. Working? Perhaps. We needed to move our company boat from the Stamford pier to a marina in Norwalk for the winter. Being the second-most experienced sailor at the office (this is not saying much), I was asked to assist. It turned out to be quite the adventure: a broken engine, varying winds, early darkness with no boat lights (thankfully there was a full moon), gorgeous sunset, and lots of close-hauling (but no burying the rails). I wound up home late, slightly tipsy, slightly bruised, and thoroughly exhausted. All in all a long but satisfying day.

As for today? Just a typical Thursday...
