brief interlude

Slow and rainy week. I spent yesterday evening practicing my viola, listening to Schubert, taking a bath, and reading Brodsky. Operation Computerless was a grand success. Today I made the unfortunate decision to walk to my office; not a mistake in its own right, but the insistent rain and potential thunderstorms pose a bit of a hindrance to returning home. Hence I am staying a bit late in hopes that the storm will subside. Keeping me engaged has been this New Yorker article. My interest in elite education and its subtleties has lessened over the years, but it is always stimulating to find a new perspective.
