Tuesday Thoughts

Things that bewilder me, mostly in a pleasant way:

-How does the janitor at my office building know my name? I was so caught off guard the first few times it happened that I failed to ask the requisite "What is your name again?" question, and it's reached a point where such an inquisition would be awkward. So now I just smile politely and wonder to myself.

-Why do we have an imaginary coworker named Max? This fact was revealed yesterday when an exciting--and entirely unexpected--birthday party was thrown for this allegedly mysterious fellow. Birthday festivities included a cake, signed card, and raucous singing. Have I mentioned before that I work at The Office?

-How is it spring, yet still cold? C'mon weather! We had such a mild winter, yet you are going to belabor the blossoming of spring? Ruin the fresh buds with unanticipated frost? This seems unjust.

-Why are musicians insane? (I include myself in this description, mind you.) Orchestra rehearsals seem like an authentic sitcom that accelerates into chaos. I usually arrive tired and worn out from the events of the weekend, but return home chuckling and bemused, if not full-out giddy.
