Summer Soon

Things that I appreciate deeply (but should not admit publically):

-Commuting to work on the Merritt when the sun is shining and I have my shades on, the sun roof open, and a Brahms quintet blasting. Since I'm full-out confessing, I may as well divulge that this situation usually provokes multiple Maisky-moments (neologism that refers to dramatic physical over-indulgence when listening to music. This often entails elaborate gesticulations, emotive facial expressions, and embellished humming of the cello line, when appropriate). In truth, the way that the sun radiates through the greenery of the trees is absolutely beautiful.

-Sheep, cows, and grocery stores that have associated petting farms adjacent to them. If all shopping centers had such facilities, I would be a much more prolific consumer. Cute farm animals are just far too enticing. As are the robotic singing duo Cindy Celery and Larry Lettuce, along with the wild frenzied dancing that the chiquita banana induces. I think I may be eating fresh Dole vegetables and bananas for the rest of my existence.

-Getting happily tipsy on a Sunday afternoon while trolling around Connecticut Farm Wineries, passport in hand. Yes, it's official:

Bring me all of your dreams,
You dreamer,
Bring me all your
Heart melodies
That I may wrap them
In a blue cloud-cloth
Away from the too-rough fingers
Of the world.
